452 Syslog messages
Operating system (OS) messages
There are three categories of operating system (OS) system messages:
EMERG (see Table 72 "Operating system messages—EMERG" (page
452))
CRITICAL (see Table 73 "Operating system messages—CRITICAL"
(page 452))
ERROR (see Table 74 "Operating system messages—ERROR" (page
453))

Root filesystem corrupt EMERG The system cannot boot, but stops with a
single-user prompt. fsck failed. Reinstall in
order to recover.
Config filesystem corrupt beyond
repair
EMERG The system cannot boot, but stops with a
single-user prompt. Reinstall in order to recover.
Failed to write to config
filesystem
EMERG Probable hardware error. Reinstall.
