Using the base unit PIN/repeater

2. Select L by pressing {^}, {V}, {<}, or {>}. i #
3. Press {^} or {V} to select the desired item in the base unit settings menu. i #
4. Press {^} or {V} to select the desired item in the sub-menu. i #
5. Press {^} or {V} to select the desired setting then press # or follow the instruction in the rightmost column of
the chart.
L To exit the operation, press {ih}.
*1 If you change the PIN, please make note of your new PIN. The unit will not reveal the PIN to you.
*2 If you forget your PIN, consult your nearest Panasonic service centre.
L When the ringer volume is turned OFF, U is displayed.
When the ringer is turned OFF, the cordless handset will ring:
– at the minimum level for alarm and intercom calls
– at the maximum level for paging
*1 When this setting is changed using the cordless handset, the setting for the base unit will also be changed, and
vice versa.
*2 This setting can be changed individually for the base unit and the cordless handset.

– To set the base unit ringtone for outside calls, see feature #17 on page 51.
– To set the base unit night mode, see feature #35 on page 25.
– To set the base unit LCD display contrast, see feature #39 on page 53.
*3 If you select one of the melody ringtones, the ringtone will continue to sound for several seconds if the caller
hangs up before you answer. You may hear a dial tone or no one on the line when you answer a call.

*5 If “Off” is selected, only current date and time are displayed.
If “Handset Number” is selected and the current cordless handset number is 2, “[2]” is displayed.
If “Base Number” is selected and the current base unit number is 2, “-2-” is displayed.
*6 This feature alerts you when new messages have been received or recorded:
– SMS (page 31)
– Telephone answering machine (page 47)
The message indicator on the cordless handset flashes until you have read or listened to all new messages.
While message alert is ON, battery operating time is shortened (page 18).
*7 Auto talk feature allows you to answer calls simply by lifting the cordless handset OFF the charger. You do not
need to press {C}.
