4.4 IPv6 Setup on your PC
4.4.1 Setting an IPv6 Address Using Windows XP
Note
If using Windows XP Service Pack 2, you may not be able to set an IPv6 address. Follow the steps
below to check if the PC you are using has Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed.
1. Select [Start] [All Programs]
[Accessories] [Command Prompt] and
click.
The command prompt is started.
2. Enter "ipv6 install", and press [Enter].
If Succeeded is displayed, it was installed
successfully.
Note
When Windows XP Service Pack 1 is not installed, Succeeded will not be displayed. Install
Service Pack 1.
3. Enter "ipconfig" on the command prompt
window, and press [Enter].
If an IPv6 address is displayed, it has been
assigned to this PC.
1. Select [Start] [Control Panel] and click.
2. Double-click the Performance and
Maintenance icon.
3. Double-click the System icon.
