3–52 Configuring the Printer
• The first file name following the command name is the name of the input
file that you want to convert. (There are no restrictions on the filename or
extension.)
• The second file name is the name of the downloadable output file, which
the utility will create. (Again, there are no restrictions on the filename or
extension.)
• The third file name is the name of the output file as it will be stored in the
flash memory after downloading and later displayed on the printer LCD
menus. (The filename and extensions
must
conform to the format
described below.)
• The “A” parameter in the command line is a fixed parameter that must
always be entered.
• If the file being converted is a font file, enter “FONT” following the “A”
parameter on the command line. If the file is not a font file, omit “FONT.”
IMPORTANT
Be sure that you always enter the “A” parameter on the CNVT2FLS
command line, as indicated above.
When the CNVT2FLS utility runs, it reads the file named
file_name1
and
creates the file named
file_name2
. The file named
file_name2
is a flash
downloadable file that can be copied and downloaded to the printer, as detailed
later in this section. The utility takes the filename you specify for
file_name3
and stores this information within the downloadable output file (
file_name2
).
The
file_name3
file name is used by the printer to determine the type of file
(font, logo, etc.) that has been downloaded.
IMPORTANT
The printer uses the file extension of
file_name3
to determine the type
of file that has been downloaded. If you are downloading font files, use
the extensions
.sf
,
.ttf
,
or
.fnt
, depending on the original font type
extension. If you are downloading PGL logos or forms, use the
extensions
.lgo
or
.frm
, as appropriate. If you are downloading an LP+,
PGL, or VGL printer setup file, use the full name
setup.ptx
