❖ Printer Bypass Paper Size
You can specify the size of the paper in the bypass tray when printing data
from the computer.
• The paper types you can set for trays are as follows:
• A3L, B4 JISL, A4K, A4L, B5 JISK, B5 JISL, A5K, A5L, B6 JISL,
A6L, 11 × 17L, 8

❖ Paper Type Detect
You can specify whether or not detect the paper type (plain, thin, thick 1, thick
2, translucent, OHP transparency) automatically.
If detection is enabled and the paper type that is loaded differs from the de-
tected paper type a warning screen appears.

• Bypass Tray
• Tray 1
• Tray 2
• Tray 3
• LCT
Note
❒ Default: On
❒ Some paper types cannot be detected. In this case, specify “Off” for this set-
ting.
❒ If you select duplex copying, the paper type of the backs of originals can-
not be detected.
❒ [Paper Type Detect] works only if you select “No Display”, “Recycled Pa-
per”, “Translucent Paper”, or “OHP” in [Paper Type: ] in System Settings.
❒ The following paper types cannot be detected:
• Printed paper or copies
• Colored paper
• Preprinted paper
• Bent, folded, or creased paper
• Paper with holes
• Smudged, damaged, or torn paper
• Back of paper
