UltraLink User Manual
Password and Confirm Password
As a security measure, these fields do not display what you type. Enter a
password for this account twice, once in the Password field and once in the
Confirm field. This verifies that you entered the password correctly. The
password is case-sensitive and may not be more than 16 characters long. The
Viewer disables the OK button and displays a warning if the password fields do
not match.
Dialback Number
Dialback number is reserved for future use.
IP Mask
The IP Mask field is an optional field that specifies a TCP/IP address or address
range from which the UltraLink may accept connections. When a user logs in,
the UltraLink verifies that the IP address falls within the range defined in the
mask. If it does not, the UltraLink breaks the connection, preventing
unauthorized logins – even with stolen usernames and passwords.
The mask has a fixed dotted-quad format. A fixed address mask is composed
entirely of numbers, for example, 192.168.1.123. A range is specified when any
quad has an asterisk. For example, a mask of 192.168.0.* allows the user to
login from any IP address in the range 192.168.0.1 through 192.168.0.254.
To change the mask, enter mask quads in the IP Mask field. A quad may have a
value in the range of 0 to 255, or may be an asterisk. Enter the IP range of
addresses to which the Viewer may connect in the form nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn. By
default, IP Mask has a value of *.*.*.*, indicating that this account can log in
over TCP/IP connections from any IP address.
OK
When you edit a user account, the Viewer disables the OK button on the
Security tab until you select OK or Cancel on the User Details dialog. Selecting
OK on the User Details button does not save your changes to the UltraLink until
you select the OK button on the Security tab.
Cancel
Abandon changes to User Details by selecting the Cancel button on the User
Details dialog.
