LOCATING THE PRINTER
Beforeyoustartunpackingandsettingup yourprinter,makesurethatyou
havea suitableplaceonwhichto locateit. By“a suitabIeplace”,wemean:

A firm,levelsurfacewhichis fairlyvibration-free
Awayfromexcessiveheat(suchas directsunlight,heaters,etc)
Awayfromexcessivehumidity
Awayfromexcessivedust
Supplyitwith“clean”electricity,Donotconnectit tothe samecircuitas
a large,noise-producingappliancesuchas a refrigerator.
Make sure the line voltage is the voltage specified on the printer’s
identificationplate.
To disconnectthe printertheplughas to be disconnectedfromthe wall
socket,whichhasto be locatedcloseto theprinter,andeasyto access.
Installthe printerwherethereis sufficientroomfor the paper and any
paperbeingfed in or printedout.
Ifyouareconnectingyourprinterwithaparallelcable,makesurethatthe
cableis within2m (6ft)of the printer.An RS-232connectionusingthe
optionalSPC-8Kinterfacecanbe madeoverlongerdistances.
