nl is the charactercodeof thefirstcharacterdefinedand n2 is the
charactercodeofthelastcharacterdefined.n] mustbeequalto or
lessthann2.Useofcharactercodes32(space)and127(deletecode)
shouldbe avoidedif possible.
Eachcharacterisdefinedbyanattributebyte(rnO)and11databytes
(ml, m2, ..... roll).
Themost significantbit of theattributebyteis 1if thecharacteris
an ascender(positionedentirelyabovethe baseline)or Oif it is a
descender(descendingbelowthebaseline).Theattributebytealso
indicatestheamountofwhitespaceto theleftofthecharacter(Oto
7 dots,specifiedbybits4 to 6), andthewidthof thecharactercell,
includingthisspace(4to 15dots,specifiedbybitsOto 3).Theleft
spaceandcellwidthattributesareusedonlyinproportionalspacing.
Eachdatabyteindicateseightverticaldots,withtheMSBbeingthe
topdot andtheLSBthebottomdot.Thesecorrespondto pins 1to
8 or 2 to 9 of theprinthead,dependingon whetherthecharacteris
an ascenderor descender.
