theprintheadand/orplaten.In addition,thetotalnumberoflinesprintedis
considerable,more than can be accommodatedon a singlesheet,so fanfold
paperis recommendedforthistest.

Byholdingthe(

>buttondownduringpower-up,theprinterwill
entertheprintareatestmode.Thisway,youcanfmdouthowmanylineson
your paper are availablefor printing.The printer will print the first line
message,thenprintthelastlinemessageafterfeedingto the bottomofthe
page.
If youhaveloadedthefanfoldpaper,onlythefirstlinemessageis printed.
Stay in Panel Pitch
By holdingthe (Fi7CR)buttondownduringpower-up,the print pitch can
onlybeselectedfromthecontrolpanel.Thispreventssoftwareinterference.
You willhear an acknowledgingbeep as powercomeson.
Afterthebeeptone,youcansettheprinteroff-line,selectaprintpitch,then
returnto on-lineandstartprinting.Thepitchyouselectedwillnotbe reset
or otherwisechangedby anycommandsyoursoftwaremay issue.

Byholdingthe (~> buttonduringpower-up,fontscanonlybeselected
fromthecontrolpanel.Thispreventssoftwareinterference.Therewillbean
acknowledgingbeepaspowercomeson,afterwhichyoucansettheprinter
off-line,selectafont,thenreturnto theon-linestateandbeginprinting.The
selectedfontwillnotbechangedbyanycommandsyoursoftwaremayissue.

Ifyouwanttoprotectboththepitchandfontsettingsfromsoftwarechanges,
pressboththe (FiTUi)and(T6FiT)buttonsduringpower-up.Therewillbe
two acknowledgingbeeptones.
Pressingthesebuttonsduringpower-updoesnotpreventyoufrommaking
anynumberof changeslaterfromthecontrolpanel.
