definition.That’swherethenumbersdowntheleftsideofthegridcomein.
Noticethatthereis a numberforeachrowof dots andthateachnumberis
twicethenumberbelowit.Bymakingthesenumbersoftwowecantakeany
combinationof dots in a verticalcolumnand assignthem a uniquevalue.
