Basic Measurements
Basic Measurements c ontains 1740A/1750A--Series graticule
descriptions, followed by specific measurement procedures.
This monitor uses an internal graticule, which combines wa-
veform and vector markings. The internal graticule scales
are on the same plane as the CRT phosphor, e liminating par-
allax errors. Graticule illumination can be adjusted through
the
CRT menu (page 3-24) to provide optimum brightness for
viewing or photographing displays.
Waveform Graticule
There are three versions of the waveform graticule, illus-
trated in Figure 4-1, Figure 4-2, and Figure 4-3:
H NTSC composite video graticule (1740A and 1750A
only)
H CCIR composite graticule (1741A and 1751A only)
H Dual standard graticule (1745A and 1755A only)
Horizontal Scale
The 0 IRE (0.3V) graticule line is divided into 12 major divi-
sions. Each division represents a unit of time determined by
the
SWEEP and MAG settings. Line sweep rates are as fol-
lows:
SWEEP
MAG ON
TIME/DIV
1 LINE SWEEP
2 LINE SWEEP
5 µS/D
iv
10 µS/Div
200 nS/Div
1 µS/Div
In
2 FIELD SWEEP with MAG ON, the entire vertical interval
can be viewed.
