Motherboard
Access the
Motherboard
To access the motherboard components you must remove the motherboard from the
enclosure.
For information about removing and installing the motherboard refer to the
“Accessing the Motherboard” section in Chapter 3.
For information about removing or installing motherboard components, refer
to the “Modifying Your Vanguard 6435/6455” section in Chapter 3.
Daughtercards The Vanguard 6435/6455 can support up to three of these standard Vanguard
Daughtercards:

Note
Release 6.2 or greater software is required for the V.90, release 6.3 and greater
supports the enhanced ISDN BRI S/T and release 6.4 and greater supports the
G.SHDSL Daughtercard.
The Vanguard 6435/6455 can support two Enhanced Vanguard Daughtercards, two
10/100BaseT cards, two ATM Enhanced Vanguard Daughtercards or one of each.
These daughtercards are described in the “Vanguard Daughtercards” on page 2-11
and the “Enhanced Vanguard Daughtercards” on page 2-19.
DIMs The Vanguard 6435/6455 supports V.11, V24, V.35, V.36, and DSU DIMs.
The two DIM slots are associated with specific ports:
DIM Slot 1 is associated with Port 1.
DIM Slot 2 is associated with Port 2.
Depending on how the DIMs are placed, the ports act as DTE or DCE. For more
information, refer to the “DIMs, SIMMs, DIMMs and Switches” section in
Chapter 3.
