1-2 INTRODUCTION
■ Includes increased workgroup capability which enables
administrators to create more networks that exist on the module
instead of the backplane.
■ Maintains inventory information for the 24-Port module in
non-volatile RAM (NVRAM). Such information includes the module’s
serial number, power requirements, power class settings
(i.e., power-up priority) and date of manufacture.
■ Supports the CoreBuilder 5000 power management system which
enables administrators to prioritize the allocation of power to
modules.
All ports on the 24-Port module are internally crossed over as per the
10BASE-T standard. This enables the 24-Port module to be connected
to a 10BASE-T transceiver without an external crossover adapter.
In addition to complying with the 10BASE-T standard, the module
allows Link Integrity to be disabled (which allows connection to some
equipment that does not conform to the 10BASE-T standard).
