There are many types of cables and connectors that you can use to link
your 24-Port module to your network. Use this information in this
section to ensure that the cables and connecting hardware meet
requirements. For proper operation, use only approved cables when you
install all equipment. This section is divided into the following parts:

Connectors
The IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T standard for RJ-45 pinouts must be used, as
described below. 10BASE-T uses 2 of the 4 pairs of wire: pins 1 & 2
and pins 3 & 6. If the pairs are not configured this way, the connection
will not work properly. Level 3 or higher cable should have the
following pin pairings:
■ pins 4 and 5 are pair 1
■ pins 3 and 6 are pair 2
■ pins 1 and 2 are pair 3
■ pins 7 and 8 are pair 4
