Printers
Your computer can’t find the printer.
n The printer may be turned off. Turn it on.
n The printer may not be selected in the Chooser. Open the
Chooser and select the printer you want to use.
Your printer does not appear in the Chooser window.
n The printer may not be connected properly. Check the
connections between your computer and the printer,
including relevant sections of the network if appropriate.
n The printer software may not be in your System Folder. Close
the Chooser and install the software you need.
n AppleTalk must be active before you can use a network
printer. Make sure that AppleTalk is active in the Chooser.
n If your network has zones, the printer you want may not be in
the currently selected zone. Make sure the correct zone is
selected.
The network printer keeps restarting.
n Someone on the network may be using a different version of
the printer software. Everyone connected to a network should
use the same printer software version. Consult the network
administrator for more information.
Nothing happens, or you see an error message, when you
try to print.
n The printer may not be turned on. Make sure it is turned on
and warmed up.
n The printer may be out of paper or have some other problem.
Check the printer status lights and any messages on your
screen.
n If an error message states that the printer could not print your
document, turn the printer off for at least 10 seconds. Then
turn it on again, wait for it to warm up, and try to print again.
