Adobe Digital Editions
Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is software for viewing and managing eBooks and other digital
content. To use ADE, you need an Adobe account.

After you authorize your NOOK, your NOOK appears as a device in ADE. You can drag and drop
eBooks from your ADE collection to your NOOK and vice versa.
If an ADE eBook has an expiration, it will expire on your NOOK. If an eBook is returned in ADE
before it expires, the next time you connect your NOOK to your personal computer, ADE updates
the status of the returned eBook on your NOOK, and you will not be able to read it.
Adobe Digital Editions creates the folders .adobe-digital-editions and Digital Editions on your
NOOK. These folders do not contain digital content.
To authorize your NOOK for Adobe Digital Editions:
1 Start Adobe Digital Editions and then connect your NOOK to your computer, or connect your
NOOK and then start Adobe Digital Editions.
2 Adobe Digital Editions detects your NOOK and displays the Device Setup Assistant.
3 Click Authorize Device.
4 Click Finished.
