This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device,
pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection
against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can
radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions,
may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful
interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment o
and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following
measures:
1. Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
2. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
3. If applicable, connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit dierent from that to which the
receiver is connected.
4. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio / TV technician for help.
FCC Radiation Exposure Statement
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled
environment. This device is designed for hand-held operation only. The antenna(s) used for
this transmitter must not be collocated or operating in conjunction with any other antenna
or transmitter within a host device, except in accordance with FCC multi-transmitter product
procedures.

Also note the following:

• Your NOOK has an Airplane mode that turns o the radio. It should be used on airplanes. For
more information, see “Use on Airplanes” on page 38.
• Your NOOK should be fully o when stowed onboard an airplane. For more information, see
“Checked Baggage” on page 39.
• When around sensitive electronic equipment, ask whether you can use your NOOK. You might
need to use Airplane mode. In some places, for example in a hospital, you might be asked to
not use your device. For more information, see “Electronic Equipment” on page 37.
• Use a shielded USB cable when connecting your NOOK to a personal computer. The provided
USB cable is shielded.
