Barnes & Noble BNRV100 eBook Reader User Manual

NOOK User Guide Library 96
(My B&N Library) For issues of newspapers and magazines, whether purchased as single issues
or by subscription, the issue you place on a shelf remains on the shelf. For newspapers and
magazines delivered by subscription, the most recently delivered issue is not placed on the shelf
automatically. Shelved issues of newspapers and magazines are still subject to automatic deletion
unless you archive them.
You can place a single item on multiple shelves, if that helps you to organize your B&N library.
For example, you could create both SCIENCE FICTION and SCI-FI CLASSICS shelves. You could
place The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells on both shelves.
When you first create a shelf, it is displayed at the beginning of your B&N library. You can
change the order of shelves. After all of your shelves, your NOOK displays unshelved items
under the heading UNSHELVED.
You can show or hide the shelves.
When the shelves are hidden, all items in your library (or for My B&N Library a subset based on
the Change view > Show choice, for example, eBooks) are displayed in the chosen Change view
> Sort by order.
When the shelves are shown, the items on each shelf (or for My B&N Library a subset based on
the Change view > Show choice, for example, eBooks) are displayed in the chosen Change view
> Sort by order. Unshelved items are displayed last (also subject to the Change view > Show
and Change view > Sort by choices).
You can create, reorder, rename, and remove shelves.
You can go to a shelf. This takes you to the start of the shelf; it does not re-order shelves.
Shelf names can contain any letters, numbers, special characters, and spaces. Shelf names are
not case sensitive and are displayed in entered case in the menus and in uppercase on the
reading screen. For example, you could create the shelf “Science Fiction,” “Science fiction,”
“science fiction,” or “SCIENCE FICTION.” The shelf would be displayed as entered in the menus
and as “SCIENCE FICTION” on the reading screen.
Shelf names are limited in length to 36 characters.
Removing a shelf does not remove or delete the items on it. They remain in your library, but
become unshelved, or remain on other shelves if you have placed them on more than one shelf.
If you unregister your NOOK and re-register it (to the same Barnes & Noble online account or
a dierent one), information about shelves and the shelving of items in your B&N library is not
retained.
