To choose a screensaver set:
1 On the Home menu, tap settings.
2 Tap Display > Screensaver.
3 Tap the screensaver set you want to use. The names correspond to folder names in the folder
my screensavers in the internal memory. When your NOOK sleeps, you will see the next
screensaver image in the set.
Reader Settings
You can choose a text font and text size in the Reader:
• Preferences > Text font: You can choose among several text fonts, including serif and sans
serif style fonts. For more information about text font choices, see “Reader Text Fonts” on page
121.
• Preferences > Text size: You can choose among six text sizes: Extra small, Small, Medium
(the default), Large, Extra large, and Extra extra large. For more information about text size
choices, see “Reader Text Sizes” on page 122.
Settings
You can configure settings to make your reading experience the best for you. Several of the key
settings are explained here. For the full list, see “Settings” on page 176.
• Sleep timer (Display > Sleep timer): Time from last activity (touchscreen or button presses)
until your NOOK sleeps. During sleep, a screensaver picture is displayed on the main screen. The
touchscreen backlight will already be unlit. You can choose among 2, 5 (default), 10, 15, and 20
minutes.
• Touchscreen timer (Display > Touchscreen timer): Time from last touchscreen activity until
touchscreen backlight is turned o. You can choose among 10, 30 (default), and 60 seconds.
• Owner and NOOK names (Device > Edit your profile): You can specify your name and your
NOOK’s name. Tap settings > Device > Edit profile, fill in the form, and tap Submit. The name
of your NOOK is displayed in the status bar on the Home screen and on the Settings summary
page. If you specify only your name, that is used to name your NOOK (for example, Je ’s
NOOK).
