Procedures for Beginning Reading
Following are procedures for beginning reading.
To pick something to read in the your library:
1 On the Home menu, choose my library.
2 Navigate to the other section of your library if necessary. Tap Go to My B&N Library or Go to
My Documents.
3 Navigate to what you want to read. Browse to the item you want to read, or search and then
browse. Flip pages in the list using the Next Page and Previous Page buttons. Move the selection
indicator up and down on the reading screen using the Up and Down buttons. Details about
choosing something to read are in “Organizing Your Library” on page 95.
4 Tap Select. If the item has already been downloaded or is in My Documents, it opens in the
Reader. If it is in My B&N Library and has not been downloaded, tap Download. After the item
downloads, tap Read.
5 Read is also a choice if you are viewing item details. Navigate to the item, tap Item details &
options, and then tap Read.
To read something referred to in a notice in The Daily that you do not have to buy:
1 On the Home menu, tap the daily.
2 Navigate to the notification using the Up and Down buttons, and the Next Page and Previous
Page buttons if the notification is on a dierent page.
3 Tap Read or Yes, Borrow This (for a lending oer).
To read something referred to in a notice in The Daily that you have to buy to read:
1 On the Home menu, tap the daily.
2 Navigate to the notice using the Up and Down buttons, and the Next Page and Previous Page
buttons if the notice is on a dierent page.
3 Tap Buy.
To accept a lending oer and begin reading a borrowed eBook:
1 On the Home menu, tap the daily.
2 Navigate to the notification using the Up and Down buttons, and the Next Page and Previous
Page buttons if the notification is on a dierent page.
3 Tap Yes, Borrow This. Your NOOK downloads the eBook. After it finishes, tap Read.
