Chapter 3: Advanced Configuration
AftersettinguptheValetwiththeSetupWizard(located
on theSetup Key),theValetis ready for use. For more
technicallyknowledgeableusers,theValetdoesinclude
AdvancedConfigurationsettings.Ifyou’dliketochange
some of theValet’s advanced settings, you can modify
settingsusingthebrowser-basedutility.
WARNING: Modifying some settings in the
browser-based utility may disable settings
you’vealreadyappliedusingtheEasySetupKey.
Thischapterdescribeseachwebpageoftheutilityand
thekeyfunctionsoneachpage.Youcanaccesstheutility
viaawebbrowseronacomputerconnectedtotheValet.

HowtoAccesstheBrowser-BasedUtility
To access the browser-based utility, launch the web
browseronyour computer,and entertheIP addressof
theValetintheAddressfield.ThedefaultIPaddressofthe
Valetis:
192.168.1.1
Then,pressEnter.
NOTE:Youcanalsoaccessthebrowser-based
utilityonWindowscomputersbyenteringthe
devicenameintheAddressfield.RefertoDevice
nameunder“Router IP”onpage16.
Aloginscreenwillappear.(Non-Windows7userswillsee
asimilarscreen.)
1. I ntheUser namefield,enteradmin.
2. I nthePasswordfield,enterthepasswordcreatedbythe
setupsoftware.(Ifyoudidnotrunthesetupsoftware,
thenusethedefaultpassword,admin.(Youcanseta
newpasswordon theAdministration>Management
screen;referto“Administration > Management”on
page31.)

Setup>BasicSetup
The first screen that appears is the Basic Setup screen.
This screen allows you to change the language of the
text displayed in the browser-based utility, configure
theInternetconnectionsettings,configurethenetwork
settings,andselecttimezonesettings.

TheLanguagesectionallowsyoutochangethelanguage
ofthetextdisplayedinthebrowser-basedutility.
InternetSetup
The Internet Setup section configures the Valet to your
Internet connection. Most of this information can be
obtainedthroughyourInternetSeviceProvider(ISP).
