IPSec Passthrough InternetProtocolSecurity (IPSec)is

PPTP Passthrough Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol
(PPTP) allows the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) to be
tunneledthroughanIPnetwork.ToallowPPTPtunnelsto
passthroughtheValet,keepthedefault,Enabled.
L2TP Passthrough Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol is the
method used to enable Point-to-Point sessions via the
InternetontheLayer2level.ToallowL2TPtunnelstopass
throughtheValet,keepthedefault,Enabled.

Forwarding
The Single Port Forwardingscreenallowsyoutocustomize
portservicesforcommonapplicationsonthisscreen.
Whenuserssendthesetypesofrequeststoyournetwork
viatheInternet,theValetwillforwardthoserequests tothe
appropriate servers(computers). Before usingforwarding,
you should assign static IP addresses to the designated
servers(usetheDHCPReservationfeatureontheBasic Setup
screen,referto“DHCP Reservation”onpage17 for more
details).

Common applications are available for the first five
entries.Selecttheappropriateapplication.Thenenterthe
IPaddressoftheserverthatshouldreceivetheserequests.
SelectEnabledtoac tivatethisentry.
Foradditionalapplications,completethefollowingfields:
Application Name Enterthenameyouwishtogivethe
application.Eachnamecanbeupto12characters.
External Port Enter theexternal port numberused by
theserverorInternetapplication.CheckwiththeInternet
applicationdocumentationformoreinformation.
Internal Port Enter the internal port number used by
theserverorInternetapplication.CheckwiththeInternet
applicationdocumentationformoreinformation.
Protocol Select the protocol used for this application,
eitherTCPorUDP,orBoth.
To IP Address Foreachapplication,entertheIPaddress
ofthePCthatshouldreceivetherequests.Ifyouassigned
a static IPaddress to thePC, then you can click DHCP
ReservationontheBasic Setupscreentolookupitsstatic
IP address (
refer to“DHCP Reservation” on page 17 for
moredetails)
