ApplicationsandGaming>DMZ
The DMZ feature allows one network computer to be
exposed to the Internet for use of a special-purpose
service such as Internet gaming or videoconferencing.
DMZhostingforwardsalltheportsatthesametimeto
onePC.ThePortRangeForwardingfeatureismoresecure
becauseitonlyopenstheportsyouwanttohaveopened,
whileDMZhostingopensalltheportsofonecomputer,
exposingthecomputertotheInternet.

AnyPCwhoseportisbeingforwardedmusthaveitsDHCP
clientfunctiondisabledandshouldhaveanewstaticIP
addressassignedtoitbecauseitsIPaddressmaychange
whenusingtheDHCPfunction.
Enabled/Disabled To disable DMZ hosting, select
Disabled. To expose one PC, select Enabled. Then
configurethefollowingsettings:
Source IP Address IfyouwantanyIPaddresstobethe
source,selectAny IP Address.IfyouwanttospecifyanIP
addressorrangeofIPaddressesasthedesignatedsource,
selectandcompletetheIPaddressrangefields.
Destination Ifyouwantto specifytheDMZhostbyIP
address, select IP Address and enter the IP address in
thefieldprovided.Ifyouwantto specifytheDMZhost
byMACaddress,selectMAC AddressandentertheMAC
addressinthefieldprovided.Toretrievethisinformation,
clickDHCP Client Table.

The DHCP Client Table lists computers and other
devicesthathavebeenassignedIPaddressesbythe
Valet.ThelistcanbesortedbyClientName, Interface,
IP Address, MAC Address, and Expired Time (how
muchtimeisleftforthecurrentIPaddress).Toselect
aDHCP client,click Select.Toretrievethemost up-
to-dateinformation,clickRefresh.Toexitthisscreen
andreturntotheDMZscreen,clickClose.
ClickSave Settingstoapplyyourchanges,orclickCancel
Changestoclearyourchanges.

Quality of Service (QoS) ensures better service to
high-priority types of network traffic, which may
involve demanding, real-time applications, such as
videoconferencing.

You can configure the WMM Support and No
Acknowledgementsettingsinthissection.
WMM Support IfyouhaveotherdevicesthatsupportWi-
FiMultimedia(WMM)onyournetwork,keepthedefault,
Enabled.Otherwise,selectDisabled.
No Acknowledgement IfyouwanttodisabletheValet’s
Acknowledgementfeature,sotheValetwillnotre-send
dataifan erroroccurs,thenselect Enabled.Otherwise,
keepthedefault,Disabled.
InternetAccessPriority
Inthissection, youcansetthebandwidthpriorityfora
varietyofapplicationsanddevices.Therearefourlevels
priority: High, Medium, Normal, or Low. When you set
priority,donotsetallapplicationstoHigh,becausethiswill
defeatthepurposeofallocatingtheavailablebandwidth.
Ifyouwanttoselectbelownormalbandwidth,selectLow.
