4. If installing a SAS drive, attach a SAS-to-SATA cable adapter to the connector on the SAS hard
drive as shown in the following figure.
NOTE: SAS Drives require a separate SAS Controller plug-in card.

5. Push the hard disk drive into the selected bay until it snaps into place as shown in the following
figure.

6. Attach a power cable

to the drive, and attach a data cable from the SATA port or SAS controller
to the hard disk drive.
NOTE: For SATA and SAS HDDs, connect data cables to lower-numbered drive connectors first
on the system board (for SATA HDDs) or SAS controller card (for SAS HDDs). To identify hard
disk drive connectors, refer to the workstation service label on the side access panel.
