Menu Description Default Setting
Emulation > Switches the printer emulation. HP LaserJet 5M
The key allows access to sub item >Code set.
Font > Selects the print font. Bitmap
Page set Size reduction settings [See page 2-26] [CS] → [CS]
Page orientation The + and – keys toggle between portrait and Portrait
landscape page orientations.
MEMORY CARD >* The several operations can be performed from
sub-menus on memory cards installed in the printer.
Opt. ROM >* Reads information from the option ROM installed in the
printer’s main board.
HARD DISK >* The several settings can be made from sub-menus when
an optional hard disk unit is installed. (For details, please
read the hard disk unit instruction manual.)
MP tray mode > The multi-purpose tray mode can be set to First, First
Cassette or Manual.
Pressing the key will display > MP tray size, A4 or Letter
allowing you to set the paper size for the
multi-purpose tray.
Paper Type This can be changed depending on the thickness Normal
of the paper to be printed on.
Thin: 64 g/m
2
or less
Normal: 64 to 90 g/m
2
Thick: 90 g/m
2
or more
Extra thick: OHP sheets, postcards, or other
special paper.
To prevent paper jams, be sure to feed thick paper
from the multi-purpose tray and output on the face-up tray.
