OKI OkiLAN 6010e User’s Guide
Chapter 1: Introduction
Overview
This section contains instructions and information on
how to configure your OkiLAN 6010e in the NetWare
environment.
There are two environments in which to configure the
OkiLAN 6010e:
• Bindery (NetWare 3.x)
• NetWare Directory Services (NDS)—for
NetWare versions 4.1 and later.
Before You Start
• You should be familiar with network admin-
istration as well as the physical setup and
operation of your network.
• Write down the serial number and the
Ethernet address of your OkiLAN 6010e.
You will find these numbers on the OkiLAN
6010e enclosure.
• Install the OkiLAN 6010e hardware and
connect the cabling—see Section I. Instruc-
tions for hardware installation are found in
Section I of this manual.
• Install the OkiNet Utility for NetWare—see
Section I.
