6 Get Assistance, if You Need It
Verifying your System
Overview
There are five tests you can use to verify your system, as listed
in Table 2 on page 106.
Table 2 Methods to verify your system
If your system includes an Agilent digital receiver, perform
tests 1, 2, or 3 and test 4.
Tests 1 and 2 provide the highest level of confidence.
Test 3 should only be used for testing the receiver if you do
not have a signal generator and there is no known channel in
the system.
If your system includes a phone, perform test 5.
Test 1 - Receiver testing using a signal generator
Preparing the hardware
1 Connect the system as shown in Figure 50 on page 107, but

NOTE
The verification tests are only used to alert you to possible non-operating
conditions. To measure actual receiver specifications, the unit must be
measured in a controlled environment, using Agilent Technologies’
prescribed measurement techniques.
