Regular Maintenance
You can keep your fax machine in optimum condition by cleaning it on a regular basis. It is a good
idea to replace the toner cartridge and the drum unit during this routine. Avoid using thinners
or other organic solvents to clean the machine and do not use water.
Follow the four steps below:
1.

When you reconnect these lines later, make sure to connect the power cord first, then the
telephone line.

Moisten a small piece of clean soft, lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol and carefully remove
dirt from the glass cover and the white plate of the scanner.
* Do not use isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt from the control panel. It may cause a crack on the
panel.
4. Wipe the gears (see page 13-2) and electric terminals with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab.
Gently wipe the scanner window and toner sensor with a clean soft dry cloth.
Open the control panel.
