Using the DRPD
function
Using DRPD
Follow these
procedures
to
use
the DRPD function.
r
Turn the AUTO lamp
on
When the AUTO lamp
is ON and there
is
a call,
the
facsimile listens
to the ring
pattern
and determines
which
of
the ring
patterns
is
being
received. The
facsimile may
take
up
to 10
seconds
in
order
to
determine the
signal
type,
and during
this time, the
facsimile
does
not ring. According
to the type of signal
detected, one of the following
operations
takes
place.
FAX
lf the
calling signal
is
a
facsimile transmission, the
facsimile is
received without ringing.
TEL
lf
the
calling signal
is
a
telephone
call,
pick
up
the
handset.
The
display
reading
depends on
how
you
have
set
the
DRPD
settings.
.
lf
a user
name
was registered for the
ring
pattern,
the
user
name
is displayed.
.
lf
a
user
name
was not registered, then
the
registered telephone
number
is
displayed.
.
lf neither
a
user
name
or
telephone
number
are dis-
played,
the ring
pattern
is
displayed.
After
you pick
up
the handset, if
you
hear a beep
that
tells
you
the incoming
call
is
a
facsimile transmission,
then
press
t-Sfil-TAl-r-/reOp l
and
hang
up
the handset
to receive the
document.
lf no
one answers the telephone,
the
phone
will
continue
to ring
until
the
other
party
hangs
up.
