ECM receiving
Your
fax
uses a
fully
automatic
ECM
(error
correction
mode) feature
that reduces
system and
line
errors
while receiving.
In
order
to
take
advantage of ECM,
you
are
not
required
to
do anything, but
the
other fax
must
also
have
the ECM
feature.
When the
other fax has the
ECM feature,
your
fax
automatically
switches to ECM. When
you
are
receiving
a document
by
ECM, the
display shows:
ECM
RX
lf the
other
fax
does not have
ECM,
you
can
still
receive
a
fax from it
with
any of
the
operations
described in this manual.
Even when
you
are
receiving
a document
with
ECM,
line
errors occasionally
occur as
a
result
of a bad
connection.
