Using the
DRPD
function

Turn ANS
HOOK
UP on
When
the ANS
HOOK UP
lamp is
on and there is
a call,
the
facsimile
listens
to the ring
pattern
and determines
which
of
the ring
patterns
is
being
received. The
facsimile
may require
up
to 10
seconds
to
determine
the
signal
type.
During this time, the facsimile
will ring
according to the
pattern
from
the telephone
exchange.
Based
on
the result
of
thal
determination,
one of
the
following
operations takes
place.
FAX
lf the incoming
call is
a
facsimile
transmission,
the
facsimile
is received.
TEL
When
the
facsimile rings,
pick
up
the handset.
While
the facsimile
is ringing,
the
user
name
previously
registered
for
the ring
pattern
is
displayed.
lf there
is
an answering machine
connected
to
your
facsimile,
while
your
facsimile
rings, the
answering
machine
is
connected to the
circuit.
The
answering
machine
can then
answer normally
by
playing
its
own
message
and recording
the
caller's
message.

AUTO
SW
This
mode
conducts facsimile
and
telephone
switching. The facsimile
is
connected to the telephone
circuit and the facsimile
waits for
an answer
while
the
ring
back tone is
sent. At this time, TALK
and
the
user
name
corresponding ring
pattern
are displayed
alternately.

a user
name
was registered
for the ring
pattern,
the
user
name is
displayed.

lf
a
user
name was
not registered, then the
registered
telephone
number is
displayed.

lf neither
a user name
or
telephone
number
are dis-
played,
the ring
pattern
is
displayed.
lf the
other
party's
call
is
a
facsimile, that is,
if
a CNG
signal
is
detected, the facsimile immediately
enters
the
facsimile
receiving
mode.
