Diskette Drive Test
600-xx Diskette ID drive types test failed. The following steps apply to error codes 600-xx
through 610-xx:
1. Replace the diskette and retest.
2. Check the switch settings and jumper positions on the
multipurpose fixed, disk drive controller board and
retest (see Chapter 8).
3. Check and/or replace the diskette drive power and
signal cables and retest.
4. Replace the multipurpose fixed disk drive controller
board and retest.
5. Replace the diskette drive and retest.
6. Replace the system board and retest.
601-xx Diskette format failed.
602-xx Diskette read test failed.
603-xx Diskette write, read, compare test failed.
604-xx Diskette random seek test failed.
605-xx Diskette ID media failed.
606-xx Diskette speed test failed.
607-xx Diskette wrap test failed.
608-xx Diskette write protect test failed.
608-xx Diskette write protect test failed.
609-xx Diskette reset controller test failed.
610-xx Diskette change line test failed.
694-00 Pin 34 is not cut on 360-Kbyte
diskette drive.

xx:
1. Replace the diskette and retest.
2. Check the switch settings and jumper positions on the

cables and retest.
4. Replace the multipurpose fixed disk drive controller
board and retest.
5. Replace the diskette drive and retest.
