4. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.
5. Remove the computer cover (see Removing the Computer Cover).
6. Verify that the hard-drive bay is empty. If there is a hard drive bracket installed, remove it: press its tabs toward each other and pull it out of the bay.
If there is a drive installed in the bay, remove it (see Removing a Hard Drive (Hard Drive Bays 1-4)).
7. Slide the hard drive into the hard-drive bay until it clicks securely into place.
8. Connect the power cable to the drive.
9. Connect one end of the data cable to the hard drive.
10. If you are using a SAS controller card, the other end of the data cable is attached to the SAS controller card.
Otherwise, connect the data cable to a HDD connector on the system board.

NOTICE: Ensure that you do not connect a SAS drive to a SATA connector on the system board. SAS and SATA hard-drive data connectors must be
attached to the connectors labeled "HDD" on the system board.
