b. Click Backup, Recovery, and Availability

Notes:
a. Make sure that the system is saved on a tape unit that is compatible with
the tape unit used for an alternate IPL device on the target system.
b. You will need to change the default setting on the Specify Command
Defaults menu to:
Vary off network servers...*ALL
Page down to:
Unmount file systems.......Y
Print system information....Y
11. Backup any items missed by the save system, option 21.
12. Save spooled files. For information about saving spooled files, see the Backup,
Recovery, and Availability topic under System Administration,
Availability, and Maintenance in the Information Center:

To find the procedure for saving spooled files in the Information Center, do
the following:
a. Click System Administration, Availability, and Maintenance
b. Click Backup, Recovery, and Availability
c. Click Backing up your system
d. Click Manually saving parts of your system
e. Click Saving user data
f. Click Saving spooled files
13. How to Move Freed Database Files, follow the instructions in How to Move
Files That Have Been Saved with Storage Free Specified on page 53.
14. Print the system information spooled files that were generated during the
option 21 save.
Before the data migration is to take place, do the following on
the new server:
1. Set up the new server.
2. Set up a PC as Operations Console using the book Operations Console Setup,
SC41-5508-01 (if selected in server order).
3. Connect cables, power, console, and so forth.
4. On the new server, verify the availability of a compatible alternate IPL device
(tape unit attached to the system bus 1). If the system uses an alternate
installation device for install or restore operations, ensure the availability of
the location information for that device.
Note: If a tape unit is attached to a bus other than the system bus 1, record the
following information about the tape unit location:
