There is a problem with the keyboard.
Find the type of keyboard you are using in the following table; then follow the
instructions given in the Action column.
Step 1020-3
Take the following actions:
1. If you are working on a Model 140 or Model 240, find the eight-digit error code in
Chapter 3, “Error Code to FRU Index for the Model 140 and Model 240” on
page 3-1. If you are working on a Model 150, find the eight-digit error code in
Chapter 4, “Error Code to FRU Index for the Model 150” on page 4-1.
Note: If the eight-digit error code is not listed in Chapter 3, “Error Code to FRU
Index for the Model 140 and Model 240” or Chapter 4, “Error Code to FRU Index
for the Model 150,” look for it in the following:
Any supplemental service manual for the device
The diagnostic problem report screen for additional information
The Service Hints service aid
The CEREADME file (by using the Service Hints service aid).

2. Perform the action listed.
Keyboard Type Action
Type 101 keyboard (U.S.). Identify by the size of
the Enter key. The Enter key is in only one
horizontal row of keys.
Record error code M0KBD001; then go to
“Step 1020-3.”
Type 102 keyboard (W.T.). Identify by the size of
the Enter key. The Enter key extends into two
horizontal rows.
Record error code M0KBD002; then go to
“Step 1020-3.”
Type 106 keyboard. (Identify by the Japanese
characters.)
Record error code M0KBD003; then go to
“Step 1020-3.”
