WINS Settings
When an WINS server is used, specify settings such as the server address.
Settings can be specified for the following.
0 When performing a Scan to SMB operation (specified host name) through
a router, specify WINS according to the SMB transmission settings.
1 Touch [5 Network Setting] in the Administrator Settings screen.
– For details on displaying the Administrator Settings screen, refer to
“Displaying the Administrator Settings screen” on page 3-7.
2 Touch [5 SMB Settings] in the Network Settings screen.
3 Touch [3 WINS Settings].
WINS Settings screen 1/2 appears.
Parameter Description
Automatic Retrieval Set-
tings
Select whether (Enable) or not (No Limit) the IP address of the
WINS server is automatically retrieved from the DHCP server.
WINS Server Address 1
and 2
Type in the IP address of the WINS server. Use the keypad to type
in the address.
Node Type Setting Specify the method for resolving the name.
B Node: Inquires by broadcasting.
P Node: Inquires with the WINS server.
M Node: Inquires by broadcasting, then with the WINS server.
H Node: Inquires with the WINS server, then by broadcasting.
