General Guide
There are quite a few printer problems which may be corrected by the user. This section explains how
to correct these problems.
If some kind of printer problem should occur, check the following before concluding the printer is
broken.
Symptom Check Items Corrective Action
The printer will not
print.
Check the ON LINE
indicator.
Off
Press the
ON LINE
key.
If the indicator remains off and the printer still
will not print even after pressing the
ON LINE
key, the problem may be power-related.
Look through the items below and check
anything that seems appropriate.
Lit See the appropriate item below.
Check the print
quality of a status
page if one can be
printed.
No problem There may be a problem in the connection
with the computer. Look through the items
below and check anything that seems
appropriate.
There is a
problem

A maintenance message appears in the message
display.
