Guidelines for Using Paper
For the best result, use conventional 75 g/m 2 (20 Ib) paper. Ensure that the paper isof good quality,
and free of cuts, nicks, tears, spots, loose particles, dust, wrinkles, voids, and curled or bent edges.
If you are unsure of what type of paper you are loading, such as bond or recycled paper, check the
iabet on the package.
The following problems may cause print quality deviations, jamming or even damage to the
machine:
Poor print quality or toner Too moist, too rough, too Try another kind of paper,
adhesion, problems with smooth or embossed; faulty between 100 _ 400 Sheffied, 4
feeding paper lot _ 5 % moisture content.
Dropout, jamming, curl Stored improperly Store paper flat in its moisture-
proof wrapping.
Increased gray background Too heavy Use lighter paper, use the rear
shading/machine wear output stot.
Excessive curl problems Too moist, wrong grain Use the rear output slot.
with feeding direction or short-grain Use long-grain paper.

Jamming, damage to Cutouts or perforations Do not use paper with cutouts or
machine perforations.
Problems with feeding Ragged edges Use good quality paper.
NOTES:
Do not use letterhead paper printed with low-temperature inks, such as those used ill some types of
thermography.
Do not use raised or embossed tetterhead.
The machine uses heat and pressure to fuse toner to the papen Insure that any colored paper or
preprinted forms use inks that are compatibte with this fusing temperature (200 °C or 392 °F for 0,1
second),

Acid Content 5.5 pH or lower
Caliper 0.094 _ 0.18 mm (3.0 _ 7.0 mils)
Cud in Ream Flat within 5 mm (0.02 in.)
Cut Edge Conditions Cut with sharp blades with no visible fray.
Fusing Compatibility Must not scorch, melt, offset or release hazardous
emissions when heated to 200 °C (392 °F) for 0.1
second.
