Example
channel
This command configures the radio channel through which the
access point communicates with wireless clients.
Syntax
channel <channel | auto>
• channel - Manually sets the radio channel used for
communications with wireless clients. (Range: 802.11a -
36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 149, 153, 157, 161, 165 for
normal mode, and 42, 50, 58, 152, 160 for turbo mode;
802.11g - 1 to 11)
• auto - Automatically selects an unoccupied channel (if
available). Otherwise, the lowest channel is selected.

Command Usage
• The available channel settings are limited by local
regulations, which determine the number of channels that
are available.
• When multiple access points are deployed in the same area,
be sure to choose a channel separated by at least four
channels for 802.11a to avoid having the channels interfere
with each other, and at least five channels for 802.11b/g.
You can deploy up to four access points in the same area
for 802.11a (e.g., channels 36, 56, 149, 165) and three
access points for 802.11b/g (e.g., channels 1, 6, 11).
