If you do not want to install ActiveX on the system, you can access the
Windows operating system directly using a keyboard, mouse, and monitor
connected directly to the nTier700 application server (see Figure 1 on
page 31 for the connector locations). Log in using the same user name and
password that you use to connect to the BlueScale web interface.
Note: Using a USB keyboard and mouse lets you connect these devices
without power-cycling the nTier700.
Connect and Log In
Use the following steps to access the Windows desktop.
Note: If you are accessing Windows using a direct connection to the
nTier700 application server, skip to Step 3 on page 47 to log in.
1. Log into the BlueScale web interface (see Access the BlueScale Web
Interface on page 40).
2. Select General > Windows Desktop. The Windows Desktop screen
displays.
Note: If you attempt to connect to the remote desktop using Firefox,
you will receive a notification that you must using Internet
Explorer.
