Performing Tests
Select and Run the Test
Select and run the TX Test Port Calibration utility as follows:
NOTE This procedure might include prompts requiring that you disconnect cables from the
Test Set antenna port and RF IN/OUT port. Before removing or re-installing the
antenna cables, make certain that the transmitter has been turned off by the MSC (or by
switch personnel if not using a PC).
Step 1. From the Lucent AMPS Test Main Menu screen, select the Calibration/Utilities
field. The Test Software will display the Calibration/Utilities Menu screen.
Step 2. Select the TX Test Port Coupling Measurements field. The Test Software will display
the TX Coupling Measurements screen.
Step 3. Select the Radio Type from the Choices: list: AMPS or AMPS Setup.
For AMPS Radios:
Enter the Channel Number for the radio to be tested at the port.
Enter the Antenna Number for the Base Station TX Test Port.
Enter the Measurement Type, either Full or Partial.
•If you selected Partial in the step above, enter the Reference Power Level that
should be present at the Base Station TX Antenna Port.
•Set the Send Commands to MSC field to YES for automated testing using a PC, or NO to
control the Base Station using another method.
If you selected Yes, enter the Radio ID# (number.
If you selected Yes, enter the VRAL (Voice RAdio Level) for the radio.
If you selected No, the Test Software will prompt you to take each radio for the
selected antenna out of service and turn it on and off as required during the tests.
For AMPS Setup Radios:
Enter the Channel Number for the radio to be tested at the port.
Enter the Antenna Number for the Base Station TX Test Port.
Enter the Measurement Type, either Full or Partial.
•If you selected Partial in the step above, enter the Reference Power Level that
should be present at the Base Station TX Antenna Port.
•Set the Send Commands to MSC field to YES for automated testing using a PC, or NO to
control the Base Station using another method.
If you selected Yes, enter the Radio ID# (number.
If you selected Yes, enter the CSAC (Control Setup Attenuation Code) for the radio.
If you selected No, the Test Software will prompt you to take each radio for the
selected antenna out of service and turn it on and off as required during the tests.
Step 4. Press the
k1 (Run) key.
