NOOK User Guide Audio 160
Your NOOK looks for audio files in these places:
In the my music and my audiobooks folders in your NOOK’s internal memory
In any top-level folders that you create in the internal memory or on a supplemental microSD
card
Optionally, you can place audio files in subfolders if you want to organize the files hierarchically.
Playlist
Your NOOK creates one playlist (a series of audio files), which it assembles from all MP3 and OGG
files in the locations mentioned in “Managing Audio Files” above.
You can play the playlist in unshued sequence or in a shued sequence:
The default, unshued sequence of the playlist is alphabetical by the titles of songs and
audiobooks.
Shue the playlist by tapping the Shue icon on the audio player.
Re-shuing (tapping the Unshue icon and then the Shue icon) gives you a dierent sequence.
When you view the playlist, you see the title and artist (or author for an audiobook). To view
information about the album (or collection or volume for an audiobook), select the item to play it.
Playing an Audio File
You can play music while using your NOOK. You can launch the audio player from any the Home
menu and from the Reader.
To play music:
1 Tap audio on the Home menu or Open Audio Player in the Reader.
Your NOOK displays the audio player on the touchscreen.
It can take a little while before the audio player displays an audio file. This is because it
sometimes has to scan for audio files and construct a playlist.
2 Tap the Play icon to play the currently selected audio file, or tap the Playlist icon to view the
playlist and choose an audio file to play. When you choose the file, it starts playing and the audio
player is displayed.
