To make a purchase:
1 On the Home menu, tap shop.
2 Browse to or search for content:
Use the Browse and Collections menus and navigation buttons (Up, Down, and Select) to
browse content types and collections. In a content type, you can also Browse subjects.
Or use the Search menu to search for what you want. Details on browsing and searching follow
this section.
3 Tap Select to select the item you want to buy. Your NOOK displays a detail page for the item
that includes pricing information.
4 Tap Buy for $amount.
5 Tap Buy Now to confirm your purchase. The item is immediately delivered to your online digital
library and downloaded to your NOOK.
6 If you are prompted to enter the password for your Barnes & Noble online account, type the
password and tap Submit.
7 Tap OK to dismiss the message about a successful purchase.
8 To read what you just bought, go to the My B&N Library section of your library, navigate to the
item, and tap Select. If the item has not been downloaded to your NOOK, your NOOK displays
item details when you tap Select. Tap Download. When the item has finished downloading, tap
Read.
Payment
Payment for purchases occurs as follows:
eBooks and single issues of periodicals, including eBook pre-orders: If you have a
gift-card balance, the purchase is charged to your gift card, with any remainder being charged to
your default credit card. If you do not have a gift-card balance, the purchase is charged to your
default credit card. The charge is processed when the purchase is made.
Periodical subscriptions: The first monthly charge is charged to your default credit card
on the 15th calendar day after the purchase is made. There is a 14 day free trial. For example,
for a subscription purchased on March 1st, the free trial is March 1st through 14th, and your
credit card is charged on March 15th. Subsequent monthly charges are charged to your default
credit card on the same day of the month (or the last day for a shorter month), the 15th of
each month in this example. A subscriptions continues, and you are charged, until you cancel
the subscription. If you cancel a subscription, you will receive a prorated refund to your default
credit card, based on the number of remaining issues in the billing period.
