USB Connectivity
You can connect your NOOK to your personal computer using the provided USB cable. Your NOOK
uses USB 2.0.
Connecting your NOOK to your personal computer puts your NOOK in USB drive mode. This lets
you:
Obtain content from the Internet and place it on your NOOK
Put music, screensaver images, and wallpaper images on your NOOK
Back up files
Install large software updates
You cannot simultaneously manage files and folders through USB and use your NOOK, so
when your NOOK is in USB drive mode, it is locked. If you are listening to the audio player,
that stops too.
Connecting your NOOK to your Computer
Connect your NOOK to your personal computer with the provided USB cable, as shown.

When you connect your NOOK to a personal computer using USB, it enters USB drive mode and
charges. If you want to charge your NOOK and use it (as opposed to using USB drive mode), eject/
unmount the nook drive (and the drive for a supplemental microSD card if present), but leave your
NOOK plugged into the USB port on your computer.
To connect your NOOK to your personal computer using USB:
1 If your NOOK is o, turn it on. If it is asleep, you do not need to wake it.
