Display > Clock > Daylight Saving
Time
On: The time is adjusted for Daylight Saving Time.
O (default): The time is not adjusted for Daylight Saving Time.
Display > Clock > Clock format 12 hour (for example, 3:25 PM)
24 hour (for example, 15:25)
The clock format change is not immediate, but happens the next
time the time changes.
Display > Auto adjust brightness On (default): Brightness of the touchscreen is adjusted
automatically based on ambient light. Both the full brightness
and the half brightness (when the touch screen is dimmed after
a period of inactivity) are adjusted.
O: Brightness of the touchscreen is determined by the Display
> Brightness setting.
Display > Touchscreen brightness Brightness of the touchscreen. A slider control is displayed. Tap
the desired location on the slider, or touch the ball, move your
finger to the desired location, and then raise your finger.
Tap to close the slider.
Display > Touchscreen timer Time from last touch screen activity until the touch screen
backlight is turned o. You can choose among 10, 30 (default),
and 60 seconds.
When half of this time period is reached, your NOOK dims the
touch screen to 50% of its current brightness.
Device > Edit your profile Specify your name and a name for your NOOK. The name of
your NOOK is displayed in the status bar on the Home screen
and on the Settings summary page. If you specify only your
name, that is used to name your NOOK (for example, Je’s
nook).
Device > Register your nook Associate your NOOK with a Barnes & Noble online account
that has been previously created on the Barnes & Noble.com
website.
Device > Unregister your nook Unregister your NOOK. This removes the association of your
NOOK with a Barnes & Noble online account. It also removes
B&N content from your NOOK.
Device > Disable purchase
password protection
Your NOOK does not prompt for the Barnes & Noble online
account password when the user makes a purchase, including
purchasing free samples and items.
