Resetting an eBGP Session Immediately Upon Link Failure
Immediately resetting BGP sessions of any directly adjacent external peers if the link used to reach them
goes down is enabled by default. Use the bgp fast-external-fallover disable command to disable
automatic resetting. The no bgp fast-external-fallover disable command can also be used to turn the
automatic reset back on.
Logging Neighbor Changes
Logging neighbor changes is enabled by default. Use the log neighbor changes disable command to
turn off logging. The no log neighbor changes disable command can also be used to turn logging back
on if it has been disabled.

Entering yes saves configuration changes to the
running configuration file, exits the configuration
session, and returns the router to EXEC mode.

Entering no exits the configuration session and
returns the router to EXEC mode without
committing the configuration changes.

Entering cancel leaves the router in the current
configuration session without exiting or
committing the configuration changes.
• Use the commit command to save the configuration
changes to the running configuration file and remain
within the configuration session.
