User's Manual 4-3
If you select MENU FONT the printer will use the font and pitch
assigned in MENU1 or MENU2. This chapter does not explain how
to assign values to options in the menu. If you haven’t already assigned
values to MENU 1 and MENU 2, refer to Chapter 5 now.
When you first turn the printer on, the MENU 1 and MENU FONT.
indicators are lit; that is, all of the print features assigned to MENU1
are enabled. However, you can easily switch to MENU2 before
printing. You can also select a resident font other than the fonts
assigned to MENU1 and MENU2.
To select MENU1 or MENU2 and one of the resident fonts, use the
FONT and MENU buttons to light the desired indicators as described
in the following paragraphs.
NOTE
For easy reference, keep a list of your current MENU 1 and MENU 2
settings near the printer. To print a list of current settings, see the
section Printing a List of Selected Options in Chapter 5. You may also
want to use the space provided in Table 4.1 to record your settings.
Selecting MENU1 or MENU2
When you first turn the printer on, MENU1 is selected. To change to
MENU2 or back to MENU1, proceed as follows:
1. Press the ONLINE button to place the printer offline.
2. Repeatedly press the MENU button. The lighted indicator (1
or 2) shows the menu selected. When the menu selection is
changed, the font (font, pitch, and quality) assigned in the
selected menu becomes valid.
