Auto Configuration with Fail Safe Settings
This option allows you to load the Fail Safe default settings when you cannot boot your
computer successfully. These settings are more likely to configure a workable computer.
They may not provide optimal performance, but are the most stable settings. You may
use this option as a diagnostic aid if your system is behaving erratically. Select the Fail
Safe settings and then try to diagnose the problem after the computer boots.
If you select the Auto Configuration with Fail Safe Settings option, the following
window displays:
You have two options:
• Press 'N' and <Enter> to leave the current values in effect.
• Press 'Y' and <Enter> to load the Fail Safe default settings.

AND EXIT
The features selected and configured in the Setup screens are stored in the CMOS when
this option is selected. The CMOS checksum is calculated and written to the CMOS.
Control is then passed back to the AMIBIOS and the booting process continues, using
the new CMOS values.
If you select the SAVE SETTINGS AND EXIT option, the following window displays:
You have two options:
• Press 'N' and <Enter> to return to the AMIBIOS Setup Main Menu.
• Press 'Y' and <Enter> to save the system parameters and continue with the
booting process.

XIT WITHOUT
SAVING
This option passes control back to AMIBIOS without writing any changes to the CMOS.
If you select the EXIT WITHOUT SAVING option, the following window displays:
You have two options:
• Press 'N' and <Enter> to return to the AMIBIOS Setup Main Menu.
• Press 'Y' and <Enter> to continue with the booting process without saving
any system parameters.
Load failsafe settings (Y/N) ? N
Save current settings and exit (Y/N) ? Y
Quit without saving the current settings (Y/N) ? N
