You can view the printer’s resident font ID’s by printing a test label. See the
Operator’s Handbook for more information. Font 16 is used for Monarch internal
use only and cannot be deleted.
Custom Fonts
You can customize the fonts in your printer. Identifiers 13-15 are available for you
to use with your own fonts. If you delete the standard fonts, you can re-use
identifiers 1-12, too. Contact technical support at the number on the back of this
manual to add your own fonts. Monarch recommends that you do not use custom
fonts on a 128K printer without first deleting the standard fonts. If you have more
memory, you can have both standard and custom fonts.
Bar Code Fields
Bar codes encode data so a scanner can read it. You can use one of the following
bar codes available in the printer.
NOTE: Bar codes produced using single dot elements may not be scannable.
UPCA (+2, +5)
UPCE (+2, +5)
EAN 13+5
EAN 13
EAN 8
Code 39
I 2 of 5
Codabar
Code 128 (sets a, b, and c)
MSI
You cannot add or delete bar codes other than the ones included with the printer.
Bar codes cannot be incrementing or decrementing, as described in “Text Fields,”
earlier in this chapter, unless there is an incrementing or decrementing field on the
same format.
