the efficient use of memory in storing downloaded characters pro-
viding space for more characters than would be available without
compression. The printer repeats the previous dot column in the
current column whenthecurrentcolumncompression mask bitisset
to 1.
It isnecessary todefine allof IndexTable databefore the Dot Pattern
data to download many characters.

Each databyte indicateseight verticaldots,with themost significant
bit being the top dot, and the least significant bit being the bottom
dot.
